2019 Virginia General Assembly Contests Tort Reform

Here we are, another year in the Commonwealth of Virginia with the General Assembly fighting over the issue of tort reform versus access to justice. I mean, that’s what it really comes down to because those who are seeking for tort reform fail to realize the injustice of limiting a damages award to a child who has suffered a lifetime brain injury. They fail to recognize the injustice of limiting punitive damages of $350,000 against the company that makes millions by ripping-off the public. They fail to realize that plaintiffs and people who are injured should have access to a court that is unencumbered by intimidation and unfairness.

And hence, the battle rages on with the onslaught of corporate sponsors as the tort reformers keep chipping away at our justice system. Thank goodness we have the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association fighting the good fight for individual rights.
